Would you like to be healthier?  Then you need to be kind to your Cells

     You have the ability to heal yourself. Your body knows how to correct health problems: It can correct illness, repair injury, recover from hard workouts, and accelerate the process of getting into shape.

     If you cut your finger, your body knows what to do to cause the cells to grow back together again.

     Your body has resources to fight most illnesses.

     You've surely known people who can get into shape faster than most people, who seldom get sick and when they do they recover quickly.

     This is possible because they have access to their body's resources, and can speed up the normal processes.

     Let me say right here that I am not advocating that you try to do it all on your own. Quite the contrary: You should always work under a doctor's supervision.
Jose Silva, founder of the world's Number 1 mind development system, used to say that doctors don't cure, medicines don't heal. But they create an environment where healing can take place.

     His long time friend Dr. J.W. Hahn used to say that doctors can keep you alive long enough so that your body has time to heal itself.

     So how can you gain access to your body's natural healing systems? How can you accelerate healing, gain more benefits from your workouts, and recover from workouts more quickly?

     Your brain is in charge of everything that happens in your body, so if you can direct the appropriate parts of your brain, you can speed up the healing process.

     At the alpha brain wave level, which you can reach by practicing the Silva Centering Exercise that is included in this program, you can program to correct problems from the inside out. While your doctor works from the outside in, you can help by working from the inside out.
     If you have a health problem to correct, then think of the health problem and what you are doing to correct it, and imagine the correction taking place, until you are completely healthy. The 3-Scenes Technique is designed to make this easy and effective.

Correcting from Inner to Outer

     In this field of science we correct problems from the inner to the outer levels of matter. Objective medicine is from the outer to the inner levels of matter.

     We come from within, working outwards. They come from outwards, working within, objective medicine does.

     So we are at the very root, where things do happen. They can be corrected easier than from the outer levels.

     So we want to know, Where do we meet, medicine and our thing: Is it up here, or is it up here? Is it more physical than psychological, or is it more psychological than physical?

     99.99 perent of the problems are part in one and part in the other. They are not all psychological, they are not all biological.

     So, what percentage is psychological, and what percentage is biological? It varies.

     So remember that we work from the inner to the outer, with our minds. Objective medicine works from the outer to the inner.

     Dr. Chang...said one time, now, he says, you see, electron microscopes, all microscopes, regrdless, peer from the outer to the inner. He said with mind, it is the opposite, you go from the inside of the cell and observe towards the outside. Microscopes see from the outer layers to the inner layers. Now he can get inside the cell and observe the cells from the inside.

     What they were looking for was, Where is the mechanism that guides the cell, or tells the cell, to go to rest?

     All the cells rest between dividing. This one doesn't rest. It divides, divides, divides, divides. They don't know if it's in the anatomy, the chemistry, they don't know where the mechanism that causes the cell to go to rest is. They need to know where that is to trigger that mechanism. They haven't found it.

     I said, it might be in another dimension, where only mind can get in there to straighten out that cell.

     It is a very healthy cell, but it doesn't know how to rest. It divides, until finally, it is a mass of matter, not enough nutrition is supplied to that area, and then...cancer.

Key to Good Health

     The key to good health is knowing how to maintain a healthy immune system. When everything is in balance and we are in tune with nature and the universe, we are bound to have a healthy body and mind and a strong immune system to maintain our good health. Remember that humans survived millions of years before allopathy and homeopathy came around.

     So, if we have such a sophisticated immune system, WHY DO PEOPLE GET SICK? People get sick because there are many factors that influence the immune system and cause imbalances that weaken its effectiveness. Some of these factors will be covered in future columns.

     Remember that decisions that you make can affect your health. Follow your intuition; guidance is available to you from within.

Strengthen Your Immune System

     One of the best ways to STRENGTHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM is by learning to relax totally. Total relaxation means relaxing completely both mentally and physically. When you relax totally you get in tune with the Universe or to what some refer as cosmic energy.

     When you relax mentally your brain frequency slows down and you can tune in to the energy in space that vibrates primarily around 10 cycles per second. This energy exists between planet earth and the ionosphere. However, the source or the generator of this energy is not known. Many believe that the source is some where in the center of the universe. Many also believe that this energy is necessary for life to exist.

     The importance of total relaxation is that it neutralizes stress. Prolonged stress weakens the body=s immune system. It is then that health problems begin. When the mind is relaxed, it frees the immune system to do its job, and that is to keep the body healthy by normalizing the abnormal.

     Stress is a result of the FIGHT OR FLIGHT RESPONSE, which was very essential for the survival of mankind when it was necessary to hunt or fight to survive.

     When you experience a stressful situation your body's defense mechanism prepares your body to fight or run. This results in many changes within your body to prepare your outer skeletal system to react. Your blood thickens so that you won't bleed to death in case of a laceration. The blood activity is increased in your outer skeletal system and decreased in many of your organs and glands that are not needed to fight or run. When your body sends its defenses to the outer skeletal body it weakens it's defenses to the inner organs and glands and makes your internal systems vulnerable.

     This is a natural and necessary response to help you survive a fight or flight situation. As long as the stress is not prolonged for extended periods of time the body goes back to normal and no harm is done. However, these changes in the body will create problems when stress is prolonged.

     Handled poorly, ignored or allowed to get out of hand, stress can show up in many forms. Stress, for example, can affect the heart, the heart beat, blood pressure, and the digestive system. Stress can cause insomnia, headaches, peptic ulcers, mental and physical fatigue, nervous breakdowns, high blood pressure, nervousness in general, anxiety, and other very undesirable conditions. Stress may interfere with and slow down the body's natural healing processes, causing many problems. Just last year it was reported in the news that stress hormones are associated with breast cancer and prostate cancer.
Stress is necessary to help us react under certain situations, however, the causes of stress have changed since the dawn of mankind. For many of us stress is hard to define. Yet we find ourselves in the midst of stressful situations nearly every day. The argument with a spouse, the deadlines and pressures of a career, the demands of hectic schedules all of these can produce responses of anxiety, uncertainty, frustration or anger. These situations cause the stress levels to multiply, and, along with them, the physical reactions of rapid heartbeat, pounding headaches or soaring blood pressure.

     Below are what we have found to be the three most significant stressors:
Feeling guilty of doing something that you know is wrong and you continue to do it.

     Losing someone or something of great value to you and you perceive it as irreplaceable.

     Living or working under conditions that you hate and feeling that there is nothing you can do about it.

     You can survive stress by learning to manage it rather than letting it get the better of you. Understanding stress is one of the best ways to free yourself from its negative aspects. Learning to relax counter acts the effects of stress and allows the body to recover from the wear and tear of living.

     You can learn to relax mentally and physically with the all of the Silva Method courses. Complete mental and physical relaxation is a big part of all the Silva courses including some that you can learn at home from homestudy programs.
     It is recommended that you practice total relaxation at least fifteen minutes once a day to help normalize stress.
